13 months and it's all go Go GO!

It's been a busy month....
  • I've learned the joy of "pointing". Now I can show you where I want to go and what I want to eat. Finally!
  • My pointing finger is also called my naughty finger. It has an obsession with power points, computer switches, remote controls and well any type of button really. Mum and dad also love it when we are in the lift and I can reach all of the buttons. They are fun ones - they turn red or green when you touch them.
  • On Friday 19th, I did my best standing-unaided effort yet. I held a surfing-like position unsupported for a good 3-4 seconds. Mum and dad were very proud. I maximised the attention by doing in front of Grandma and Grandpa.
  • On Saturday 27th, I took my first few steps. It won't be long before I am walking (actually running!) after Elimena.
  • I am very good at shaking my head as a yes or a no indication. Between that and the finger pointing I'm set.
  • I am kind of hovering between having one and two daytime sleeps.
  • I will eat pretty much anything. I still sign for milk when I want it. Last night we went out for Chinese with Nanny and I ate a I still signdim sim and a half, two prawns, some rice, a cheese stick and a tub of yoghurt.
  • I am excellent at waving and saying "Bye".
  • My words are coming along in leaps and bounds. I regularly use mum, dad, more, bye, hi and will try anything you throw at me. I am finding "Eli" difficult though.
  • I love kisses and cuddles.
  • I've had a few colds this month and I have been a little mischievous but mum says generally I am a happy-easy-going-fun to be around little bloke :)

I love pressing buttons

I love powerpoints. I love clicking them on. I love clicking them off. I love pulling out the plugs. No matter what the punishment (instant naughty corner), it's worth it. In fact, I can't help it. They are just sooo cool!

The obvious one in the lounge room is my favourite, but I'm happy to crawl under the TV table to the set there and can fairly easily reach the ones behind the dining table. The hall set is right outside my bedroom, so quite convenient particularly when Mum and Dad are busy in the lounge!

If powerpoints are being carefully guarded, I'm happy to go for computer switches, home theatre systems, routers or phones. The dishwasher also has some great buttons to press.

I certainly know how to press Mum and Dad's buttons!

I'm ONE! Happy Birthday to me!

I'm one and it's so much fun:
* I love powerpoints, the media centre and playing in the recyling bin.
* I have fun repeating words after you and am getting really good at saying "ta". Mum and Dad are working on my "ta". It is a fun game to play.
* I have had a few colds of late but nothing too spectacular. I had a fever and was a little grumpy on Friday and all weekend - yes throughout my party. However it was my party and so I could cry when I wanted to. I had yesterday off play-care but insisted on going today to get all the attention :) The sickness is a cunning ploy to delay my one-year-old immunisations (3 needles!) as long as possible.
* I love walking around things and am keen to be able to run after Eli.
* Yogurt, cheese sticks & BBQ chicken are my favourite foods.
* I know how to work mum. Kisses and cuddles will get me ANYTHING :)
* I know how to defend myself. I pull Eli's hair when she gets in my way.
* I love music and very cutely like to bop and jig along. What is a "jig" you say? Well you stand up and move your hips and one leg in time to the music. Yes - it is very cool.

The Explorer

I've made it to 11 months and I can do just about anything
* I can say mum, dad and try very hard to say Eli. I love trying my best to repeat sounds after you. Particularly if you shower me with praise.
* I have six teeth - four up top and two down low.
* I like to crawl - EVERYWHERE! I am a very keen climber too.
* I do recognise my name and I do know what is naughty (gets attention) and what doesn't...
* I'm sleeping like a champion. I still like at least two good naps a day (or three little naps).
* I'm pretty easy with food, but I particularly love meat and yoghurt.
* I am still given 3 bottles of milk a day but I'm not that fussed by them. I can drink them if I want to. What I do love though is the straw-sippy-cup. There is nothing more fun than the drink-and-spit.
* I like to pull to standing on things and then push off - only to land in a heap. I'm dead keen on walking and have lots of confidence.
* I find lots to launch and smile about and love showing mum with kisses and cuddles. I am pretty sure that a smile will get me anything!
* I love bopping and singing to music. I can make up words with the best of them :)
* I really love the remote control and will crawl / climb with focussed intensity when trying to get it. Don't get in my way!

The Drink and Spit

I am a big fan of the drink and spit. Particularly on hot days or when I have my nice clothes on.

What you do, is suck on the straw of your sippy-cup and get a big mouthful of liquid. Then when the time is right, you spurt it everywhere. If it is a hot day you can drizzle it all over yourself. If you are trying to get Eli's attention, you can aim it at her. If you don't like the clothes you are wearing - hey presto! If you don't like the clothes mum is wearing...as you can see it is quite useful.

But the big trick is, to look around proudly afterwards with a big toothy grin. This will make all the adults smile and stop you from getting in trouble.

If you look very close...

...the count is now six!
yummy steaks here I come!

Steak here I come!

On Monday...I had two teeth in the middle down the bottom. Plus four menacing ones up the top - ever so close to cutting through - but not quite.

On Tuesday...I cut a new tooth - the one next to the middle on the top right. So I had three teeth to show and three yet to peep through.

On Wednesday...I cut another new tooth. The top left middle one. So now the count is four to see (if you look very closely!) plus two menacing teeth just below the surface.

On Thursday...another tooth cut through to join the team. It was the top left one next to the middle left one. So five to show and one is still hiding.

On Friday...will the last one finally come through?

DIVE DIVE DIVE....

I love playing with Eli but have found that I have trouble keeping up with her. So I've solved the problem...Often the best way to get her attention is to crash-tackle her. If she walks past, if you are in the bath together, whatever - you just DIVE onto her and then hold on for dear life. Then you too can do what ever fun thing she is doing :)

The best way to follow your sister around the house

Crawling is still a challenge, but who needs it when you can it in the back of your big sisters bike? All I want to do is follow her around anyway!

10 months OLD and having lots of fun!

* I can sit along with the best of them. In fact I sit so well that I can sit in the trailer of Eli's bike as she zooms along (carefully watched by Dad of course!)
* I am an expert roll-er and can tummy-shuffle or sit-shuffle in any direction I want to go (including around in circles :)
* I have two teeth down the bottom and four about to push through up the top any day now.
* I can push to a sitting position from lying on the floor. No-one has actually seen me do it but they have entered the room to find me already up.
* I like to stand and hold on to things. I'm still really enjoying the jolly jumper.
* My favourite foods are meat, meat and pretty much any kind of meat!
* I love to sing ("ahhhhhhh") with you and bop to music.
* I have a little cold at the moment and thanks to my grommets (I assume?) it has stayed a little cold and has not become a full blown ear infection.
* I am trying really hard to interact with people (especially Eli). I like to clap, wave and hi-five.
* When I get older I am going to become a demolition man. I love destroying block towers and block buildings at whatever rate you can build them at.
